Renter’s Insurance

Liability to Landlord Insurance

San Diego Renters Insurance For Tenants

North County Property Group requires that all tenants carry renters insurance, with a minimum coverage to include $100,000 of Liability to Landlord coverage. As part of our Resident Benefit Package, you will automatically be enrolled for protection at move-in with $100,000 liability insurance. This keeps you in compliance with your lease insurance requirements and provides peace of mind that you are covered at move-in. Please note that this is basic Liability to Landlord Insurance (LLP) only and does not cover personal belongings. A flyer which describes this program can be reviewed at this link: Liability to Landlord Insurance. We recommend you keep this insurance for added protection, but if you acquire your own renters insurance you can choose to opt-out of the LLP upon notification to our property management team.

Options to Acquire Renter’s Insurance

If you wish to obtain renters insurance in addition to, or instead of, the Liability to Landlord Insurance, there are several options our tenants have for purchasing such insurance. If additional renters insurance is acquired, list North County Property Group as additional insured.

1. Lemonade Renter’s Insurance

North County Property Group has partnered with insurance company Lemonade so affordable renter’s insurance can be purchased quickly and easily online. Lemonade renters insurance protects a tenant’s laptop, bike, cameras, etc. as well as providing tenant liability to landlord coverage. There are no brokers, paperwork or 800 numbers. Click here to get a free quote! It only takes a few minutes: www.lemonade.com/northcounty

2. ROOST Renter’s Insurance

As an approved North County Property Group tenant, you can also easily order and obtain renter’s insurance through ROOST by simply logging into our online Tenant Portal and looking for the link to apply for a ROOST Renters Insurance policy. You can also reach ROOST Renters Insurance by calling (844) 788-0877. The cost of insurance depends on the amount of coverage you desire for your personal belongings. 3. Private Renter’s Insurance

The other option is private renter's insurance through the tenant's personal insurance broker that handles their auto and other insurance policies (State Farm, All State, Travelers, USAA, etc.). We recommend Chris Mahlberg at Swan Insurance in San Diego. Chris can be reached by email at chrism@swan-ins.com or by phone at 858-381-3108.
